Community Events Council

The Lake Placid / North Elba Development Commission hosted a discussion forum on January 26, 2016. This forum provided an opportunity for people in the community to express their opinions regarding the many events and festivals that occur in the area.

About 25 people, many of whom were event organizers, presented their views in a fairly freewheeling discussion. Additional comments were posted on this website. Notes from the evening are available here:

The Development Commission reviewed these comments and adopted five action items at their February 11, 2016 meeting.

Development Commission Action Plan

 

One of those action items was to investigate the possibility of reconstituting an Events Council.  A sub-committee was formed to bring parties that might be interested in the initiate together.  A meeting was held on May 25, 2016 at 10 AM.   Notes from the meeting are as follows:
