All interested residents of the Lake Placid region are invited to subscribe to the Lake Placid Insider, a listing of community events delivered in a twice-weekly email.
“A communications tool like ‘The Lake Placid Insider’ was identified as a need during the creation of the Comprehensive Plan,” said Dean Dietrich, chair of the Development Commission. “It is intended to raise awareness of community events, including meeting notices, in a summarized format.”
The Lake Placid Insider will be published as an e-mail every Monday and Thursday. Subscribers can sign up by visiting insider.lakeplacid.com and providing a name and email address.
Local organizations can submit events by clicking on the red “Add your event here!” button located on that page as well. Events are hosted on the lakeplacid.com calendar database, which is managed by the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism, and approved events are tagged for distribution in the Insider. “We welcome all event submissions and want this to be a comprehensive list, but remind everyone that approved content does not include editorial, sales, or information typically found in the classifieds. The Insider is not intended to compete with the traditional regional media,” added Dietrich.
Events for Monday publications must be submitted by noon on the previous Thursday and events for Thursday publication must be submitted by noon the previous Tuesday.
